Description

After running NBServerMigrator's pre-migration report, in some instance the source primary server gets unresponsive and certain issues might be encountered.

Example:

  • Java Console hangs and reports : An unknown error has occurred during interface initialization ,  Unable to login, status 3657 Failed to check whether multi-factor authentication is enabled for the user account or not.
  • NBEMM becomes unresponsive.
  • Slowness on the source primary server.

To prevent this in the NBServerMigrator pre-migration report, both on the source and the target servers, it will be prompted to reset the NBDB password.

1. When you see the following prompt:

Running Command line: nbsm_report -premigrate -target
NBSM report base dir : /usr/openv/nbsm/ReportTmp
------------------------- A C T I O N   R E Q U I R E D ---------------------
NetBackup Primary Server Migrator report requires permission to reset NBDB password to access NBDB for faster execution.
Do you allow report to access NBDB? ('Y/y' to allow password reset and access NBDB, 'N/n' to use NBU command line):

2. Select 'n' and press Enter.
