Dynamic Lun Expansion (DLE) to over 1TB and rebooting Master node leads to DiskGroup Disabled due to corruption in Log copy within the private region
Problem
After resizing a disk to over 1TB and rebooting the master node, the disk group (DG) on the new CVM Master was disabled due to corruption in the log copy within the private region.
Error Message
DiskGroup went to "dgdisabled" state after CVM Slave takeover as Master.
[root@arcpnucs4vm13 ~]# vxdisk listDEVICE TYPE DISK GROUP STATUS
purestorage0_0001316f auto:cdsdisk purestorage0_0001316f testdg online dgdisabled
purestorage0_00013170 auto:cdsdisk - - online
Cause
Resizing a disk beyond 1TB requires converting the disk format from VTOC to GPT and updating the private region offset accordingly. However, on the slave node, the private region offset was not updated correctly. Consequently, when the slave node took over as master, it flushed the kernel log to an incorrect offset, corrupting the log copy area in the private region and causing the DG to be disabled.
