Problem

Unable to expire backup sets from a multi-server duplicate backup job.

Error Message

Debug Log :

[06/02/25 13:42:06:410] : SPID(74) : [CATDLM_GetExpirableImage_BE] [BACKUP SETS GOING TO BE DELETED] @count = x
[06/02/25 13:42:06:410] : SPID(74) : [CATDLM_GetExpirableImage_BE::Exit ] (x) records.
...
[06/02/25 13:42:06:890] : SPID(74) : [CATDLM_New_GetExpirableMedia::Exit ] (0) records.

Cause

In a multi-server backup job, its duplicate backup appends all servers selected in multi-server job on same BKF media.

Since multiple server sets are now on the same media, expiring one of the sets does not allow any deletion.

Solution

Create individual jobs for individual servers so that the problem is not seen in future.

OR

If these sets need to be expired and deleted, then the backup set of servers which are part of a multi-server job should be selected together and then expired.
