Problem

If an Access Appliance 8.4 one-node cluster uses an Indium storage controller, the cluster fails to add a new node as the storage scan fails to map the disks to the new node.

Error Message

N/A

Cause

If the appliance has an Indium storage controller, a step is required to map the initiators to volumes that are created during storage scan. In a one-node cluster, the primary node conducts this operation during cluster setup. When adding a node to the cluster, it triggers a storage scan on the new node, but it skips the mapping volume step, which leads to no disks being found. Hence, no disks are attached to the new node.

Solution

Install EEB 4196372 to both nodes before proceeding with the add node operation. The EEB is available from the Download Center.
