SharePoint Online libraries with Information Rights Protection (IRM) enabled do not support opening IRM-protected files restored from the Veritas Alta SaaS Protection if the library's IRM setting is changed after the IRM-protected file is backed up.
Veritas Alta SaaS Protection has stopped file stubbing support in the IRM-protected library from release 2.26.1. IRM-protected files restored from Veritas Alta SaaS Protection will not open under the following conditions:
- The IRM setting 'Restrict permissions on this library on download' is disabled for the document library
- The IRM settings are removed and then configured again after a file is backed up.
- The IRM-protected file is restored to another library.
Action Required
It is recommended to restore the stubs in IRM-protected libraries before changing any IRM settings in the library.
