Problem

The First Hyper-V Virtual Machine Forever Incremental backup after the First Consolidated Full targeting dedupe storage is successful with an exception that the necessary boot configuration files could not be loaded.

This issue is observed with Hyper-V Forever Incremental's and Dedupe Storage with Client Side Dedupe enabled. 

 

Error Message

V-79-40960-38531 - During Granular Recovery Technology (GRT) operations, the necessary boot configuration files could not be loaded. Backups that were enabled for GRT may not be available for restore.

Cause

Backup Exec is not able to access the files of the Consolidated Full backup.

Solution

 

This issue is resolved with Backup Exec 23.0 Hotfix 463014

This issue is resolved with Backup Exec 22.2 Hotfix 917391

Incremental backups of Hyper-V Virtual machines ran after a Consolidated Full backup with client-side deduplication enabled, may experience data corruption during backups. Restore jobs may not restore the data appropriately. (100062967)
