Veritas Alta Capture Informational Update – Model B Licensing No longer supported for Teams Importers

Description

Both Model A and Model B options were available originally in Veritas Alta Capture to cater to different use cases and we have always asked customers to reach out to Microsoft for advice on which model to use for their use case.

Microsoft is no longer accepting this layout and given the fact that most customers will be using Veritas Alta Capture for compliance, we have been asked to remove the option to use Model B reserved specifically for backup. This means Veritas Alta Capture customers will need to switch to Model A, which in turn requires E5 or E3 + IPG (Information Protection and Governance) licenses.

The Model B option for the Teams Importer will no longer be available to configure in the Importer as of the releases listed below: 

If you are not on these versions and are currently using the Model B option please modify the Importer Configuration and select the Model A option as indicated below.

Note: In order for the Model A option work you must obtain Model A licensing from Microsoft before hand.
