Problem

For VAIO based replication with Veritas Resiliency Platform (VRP), performing the "Unconfigure RG" operation may at times fail at the "Delete VM Config File"  task

Error Message

The "Delete VM Config File"  task upon failure would report below description

Unconfigure operation on CG <CG_ID> failed due to error : Unconfigure CG failed for CG <CG_ID> because replication is still active on ESX <ESX_NAME>. Detach the VRTS filter from VMDKs if not done already and retry.

Cause

This issue occurs as the data reported by the VMware NRT discovery is in a different format than expected after DR operation is completed.

Solution

To address this issue, firstly, ensure that the "vtstap" policy is indeed detached from all the VMDKs of the VM(s) that are getting unconfigured from the RG.

If that holds true and the issue still persists, then perform below steps

a) Refresh the Vcenter from the VRP Console to allow a new discovery to be run for the VMware assets.

b) Retry the "Delete RG/Unconfigure RG" and it should now be successful.
