Error Message
Error when running the eebinstaller
"NetBackup installation does not appear to be a server"
Cause
In order to restore RHEL 8.4 clients a hotfix is needed to be applied the Bare Metal Restore Boot Server
Contact Technical Support for
9.1.0.1 > EEB > 4055912

One part of the he fix is to be applied to the Machine that plays the role of Bare Metal Restore Boot Server
One part of the fix needs to be applied to the Primary master (running the BMR database).
A requirement for Bare Metal Restore Boot Server is that it has Netbackup Client software installed - but the role can be performed by a Primary (previously called Master) server or a media server.
Install on a "pure client" has been seen
"NetBackup installation does not appear to be a server"
The EEB is checking if the server is a primary server or media server.
Solution
It is always preferred to use eebinstaller as this allows for documenting and rollback of EEBs
As a workaround:
Extract the EEB on the BMR Boot Server with “eebinstaller -extractonly” and can replace the files manually.
On the master server executable :/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bmrprep
On the boot server config file: /usr/openv/var/global/createsrt.conf
This is planned for fix in Netbackup 9.1.2.
