Due to some corruption of Microsoft ADK components the Netbackup BMR (Bare Metal Restore) SRT creation may fail at the time of mounting the .WIM file

Problem

Due to corruption of some Microsoft ADK components the Netbackup BMR (Bare Metal Restore) SRT creation may fail at the time of mounting the .WIM file

Error

Failed to mount the SRT WIM file

Brief info

At the time of creating the first SRT on BMR Boot server Netbackup will check for the presence of Microsoft ADK, optionally download and then install the following components of ADK 8.1

1> Deployment Tools
2> Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE)

Following versions of Netbackup BMR will make use above components of Microsoft Windows ADK 8.1 for building an SRT

Cause

It may happen that the customer installs a newer version of ADK for some other reason when ADK 8.1 already exists and later decides to un-installs ADK 8.1

Doing so will delete some of the common API components of ADK that are necessary for the mounting the WIM file, thus SRT creation fails

Solution

Either un-install ADK 10.0 and then re-install
or
Do a repair install of ADK 10.0.
