Problem

When using Custom Filtering the Exchange Journal task will begin to process slower and slower until eventually it crashes. At which point a restart of services will be required to begin processing again.

Cause

This issue is due to a memory related exception that causes heap corruption. 

Solution

Veritas Corporation has acknowledged that the above-mentioned issue is present in the version(s) of the product(s) referenced in this article.

Veritas currently plans to address this issue by way of a cumulative hotfix to the current version of the software. Please be sure to refer back to this document periodically as any changes to the status of the issue will be reflected here. A link to the cumulative hotfix download will be added to this document when it becomes available.
