The Veritas Download Center provides the ability to download Veritas products purchased by Veritas customers. To download product releases and updates, customers will need to have a Veritas account, need to have their Veritas account linked to Veritas Entitlement Management System (VEMS) account(s) and have an active maintenance entitlement.

If you don’t have a Veritas account, you can create one by clicking the Sign in link at the top of the page, then clicking Create one. Once you have completed your registration, you will be able to log into your Veritas account and be able to view any entitlements held by VEMS accounts that your Veritas account is linked to.

VIEWING YOUR ENTITLEMENTS

  1. Log into VEMS by clicking Licensing on https://support.veritas.com.
  2. Click Entitlements on the VEMS main menu.
  3. Locate the entitlements for this product and verify that the Entitled Version for at least one entitlement for the product is greater than or equal to the version of the product you want to download. You will not be able to download the product if the version of the product you want to download is greater than the highest Entitled Version for the product.

For example, if you wish to download NetBackup 8.2, you will need at least one NetBackup entitlement with an Entitled Version equal to or greater than 8.2.

Note: To view entitlements held by a VEMS account, you must be a registered user of the VEMS account with one of the following VEMS privileges: Administrator, Generate License Keys, Download Software, or View. Click Accounts to view your privileges for each account. Users with the Support privilege will not be able to view the entitlements within the account or their account privileges. Users with the Support privilege will only be able to download software updates (not full releases) and open support cases where entitlements are linked to maintenance contracts.

VIEWING YOUR MAINTENANCE CONTRACT

  1. Log into VEMS by clicking Licensing on https://support.veritas.com.

  2. Click Entitlements on the VEMS main menu.

  3. To see what the latest maintenance/service contract expiration date is for each product

    1. Use the Product Line filter to display the entitlements for each product line individually. Select the Product Line and click Apply Filters. If you don’t see a Product Line that matches your product, then you most likely do not have access to entitlements for the product and will need to work with your VEMS administrator to get access to an account that does have entitlements for the product.

    2. Click Service Expiration in the table header to show the entitlements in descending order by the Service Expiration date. Locate the first entitlement that has a Coverage Type of either ESSENTIAL or BASIC.

    3. Note the Entitled Version and the Service Expiration date for entitlement from Step b as this is entitlement will be used to determine which updates you will be entitled to download. To download an update, it must apply to the Entitled Version (or earlier version) of the product and the release date of the update must be less than or equal to the Service Expiration date.

So based on this example, this user would only be able to download the updates for Backup Exec 14.1 (or earlier) that were released prior to their maintenance contract lapsing on February 14, 2015. They are not entitled to any updates for Backup Exec 20.4 as there is not a maintenance contract associated with either of the Backup Exec 20.4 entitlements.
