Solution

A command exists within the NetBackup Appliance Shell Menu to automate the process of cleaning the data entries in the autosupport client database.

Use the following command to clean up the monitoring and inventory related data from the database.

Main Menu > Support > Cleanup > CleanMonInvData


Note: for NetBackup Appliance versions less than 4.0, the command location is:
Main Menu > Support > InfraServices > CleanMonInvData


NOTE: wait 1 hour for the autosupportClient database to fully populate with hardware inventory
