How To Verify Backups Are Working

Description

A. The administrator user can see what backups are available per case in the user interface:

  1. Navigate to All Processing
  2. Click on the Backups tab

This will show a list of backups and pertinent information for the backups that are currently available to be restored.

 

B. Take a look at any backups that may have failed. Navigate to System > Jobs and select All Jobs from the Context drop-down. The user will be able to see if there are any failed backups either system backups or case backups.

Note: Backup jobs that are successful will be removed from the list automatically.

 If the user clicks on the log icon in the image above a log will pop up similar to the image below.  Sometimes the error message is not hard to interpret or correct. In the example below the esa.case.backupDir location is set to \\notaccessiblefrom\clearwell     which is a location that is not accessible from the Clearwell Appliance. 

 

 

C. The user will want to verify that esa.case.backupDir is configured correctly.
