Event ID 45084 occurs when attempting to connect to NetApp C-Mode server.

Problem

The Enterprise Vault (EV) server may return this error when attempting to configure the fpolicy on the NetApp server.  Data access to the Vserver from UNC path may still connect without error, however this is data access only and not management access.  

Error Message

The following entries are seen in the Dtrace of the EvNetAppCModePHSvr process on the EV server.

Cause

This issue can be caused if  Management Access has been disabled on the Data LIF associated with the NetApp C-Mode Vserver.  

Solution

Ensure that  Management Access is enabled on the Data LIF so that EV can communicate properly using the ONTAP API.  Alternatively, a new LIF for Management access can be added to the Vserver (SVM).
