Problem

In some situations, EVConverterSandbox.exe uses an excessive amount of memory while converting content into HTML. For example, a 10MB file may require over 750MB of memory during the conversion. As there are multiple, spawned instances of the process, this can lead to high memory usage.

Error Message

It is possible that this condition may lead to the following event being logged.  It is important to note that this error can have many other root causes, and is indicative of any high memory condition.

Event 4140 Admin Service "Insufficient Virtual Memory is available"

Solution

Workaround:

  1. Increase physical memory.
  2. Ensure the page file is correctly set.
  3. Decrease the number of storage archive processes.
Note: This option is available from the properties of the Storage Service, via the Vault Administration Console, under the Advanced tab. Doing this may also decrease ingestion rates.
