Problem

The expiry date of NetBackup Access Control (NBAC) credentials for command line interface (CLI) and graphical user interface (GUI) are not same.

For CLI
# bpnbat -whoami
Name: root
Domain: nbusup46.veritas.com
Issued by: /CN=broker/OU=root@nbusup46.veritas.com/O=vx
Expiry Date: Apr 12 08:37:44 2012 GMT
Authentication method: UNIX passwd

Operation completed successfully.

For GUI
In the NetBackup Java Administration Console -> Top menu bar- "click" HELP -> Current NBAC User

Solution

There are two credentials for CLI and GUI . By default, a NBAC credential expires every 24 hours. For CLI, the user need to run bpnbat -login every day in order to perform NetBackup operations.
For GUI, when every times NetBackup Administration Console (jnbSA) starts, a new credential will be created.

To extend the time, to up to 30 days, see below article.
