Product(s): Backup Exec
Problem
Linux backups hang and when reviewing the active job log, the following file is listed:
/var/lib/named/proc/kcore
Cause
The
/var/lib/named/proc/kcore file is a virtual file which contains the RAM the kernel can allocate and should not be touched or read.
The entire proc directory from root is already excluded in the ralus.cfg file; however, if filesystem has proc configured in a different location (example: /var/lib/named/proc/kcore), the backup will hang.
Solution
Manually add a line to exclude the /var/lib/named/proc directory in the ralus.cfg file
