Event ID 6664 or 28993 is seen in the Enterprise Vault or the Enterprise Vault Converter Event Viewer logs

Problem

These events are seen during the conversion of an item into HTML/Text format if the ConverterSandboxPath is pointing to the incorrect location of the EVConverterSandbox.exe process.

Error Message

Event ID: 6664 Description: Abnormal error occurred within the EV Converter Sandbox Proxy/Stub Name V-437-6664
Event ID: 28993 Unable to convert item content | |Reason: Conversion failed

Solution

Check the following registry key: ConverterSandboxPath points to the correct path of the EVConverterSandbox.exe process. Correct the location and restart the Enterprise Vault Storage Service. 

On a 64bit system with Enterprise Vault 11.0.1 and newer:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\KVS\Enterprise VaultStorage

Example: <installation drive>:\Program Files(x86)\Enterprise Vault\x64\EVConverterSandbox.exe
