Description
The NetBackup Client Job Tracker's purpose is to inform the user that a backup or restore is being performed on the client machine. The NetBackup Client Job Tracker also gives an estimate of job size and current status. In some cases, disabling the tracker can improve the performance of client backups.
To verify if the Job Tracker is running on a NetBackup client, look in the system tray on the client's desktop and check for the tracker icon (Figure 1).

It is also possible to open the Windows Task Manager and examine if there is a tracker.exe process running under Processes.
There are two ways to end the tracker process:

- 2. Right-click the tracker icon (Figure 1) and click Exit.
