Problem
After changing the password for the Arctera Desktop and Laptop Option (DLO) Dedupe account clients will become disabled with a message "Dedupe engine initialization failed. Please contact your system administrator".
Solution
When the Dedupe account password is changed in Active Directory the password also has to be changed within DLO.
1. Right Click on the Dedupe server in the DLO Console and choose "Manage".
2. On the System Tab enter a "Maintenance Window" Timeout of 2 minutes and click on the "Start" button. This step puts the DLO Dedupe Server in maintenance mode.
3. Click on the Dedupe Storage Location tab.
4. Select the appropriate Dedupe Storage Pool from the drop down.
Click on the Dedupe Storage Location from the list and then click on the "Change Credential" box.
Note: If the "Change Credentials" box is grayed out go back to the "System" tab and start the maintenance window over.
5. Enter the new password for the dedupe account.
Note: If the password is incorrect a message will appear stating "The specified user doesn't have write access on the path specified".
Clear the message and re-enter the new password for the account.
On the DLO Clients, exit the DLO Agent and restart it, it should now connect as normal.
