Problem

Veritas System Recovery (VSR) 22 now provides the enhanced InstallWebAPI.exe utility, which automatically creates and binds a Self-Signed Certificate while installing Veritas System Recovery. Whereas with legacy OS platforms that have PowerShell version less than 3.0, the VSR 22 installer will not handle the automatic creation and binding of an SSL or a Self-signed Certificate.

Error

Not Applicable in this case

Cause

The PowerShell version less than 3.0 does not support the commands that VSR runs as part of Validation and binding of an SSL or a Self-signed Certificate.

Solution

To use Restful API or to manage from VSR 22 Manager for the legacy OS platforms that have PowerShell version less than 3.0, perform 1 or 2.

1. Use a valid CA-Authorized SSL certificate and bind the certificate using InstallWebAPI Utility.
See Step 17 to 19 in "How to set up Rest API on System Recovery" for binding the certificate using InstallWebAPI Utility. After that, restart "Veritas Anchor Host Service" service.

2. Create a self-signed certificate and bind the certificate using InstallWebAPI Utility.
See Step 1 to 19 in "How to set up Rest API on System Recovery" for binding the certificate using InstallWebAPI Utility. After that, restart "Veritas Anchor Host Service" service.
