Garth Scully and Rita Loncar join as Canada Country Manager and Canada Channel Chief
TORONTO, Canada – Oct. 24, 2018 – Veritas Technologies, the worldwide market share leader in the enterprise data protection and software-defined storage, today announced the addition of two new executives to its leadership team in Canada.
As the company increases its focus in the region, Garth Scully is joining the Veritas team as country manager for Canada. In his new role, Scully will be responsible for the development and execution of strategic business that delivers value to customers. Additionally, Rita Loncar is joining the team as Veritas channel chief for Canada.
Scully is a seasoned business leader in the IT sector who has led Canadian sales teams at Commvault, Cisco and GE Capital in successfully driving software, services and hardware revenue growth. He has worked in each part of the Canadian market and has experience working with large enterprise accounts, the mid-market, federal government and small business accounts.
Loncar has worked at Veritas for 12 years, starting with the company’s inside sales team before moving to channel sales, managing distribution and partner communities across Canada. In her previous roles, she developed strategic relationships and key partnerships with Veritas channel partners. As Veritas continues to invest in the channel, Loncar will be responsible for driving new programs that enable partners to transform and grow their business. She will focus on maximizing channel partnerships, accelerating channel growth across Canada and will work with current partners to address customer challenges.
“Veritas is delighted to have the depth of experience and accomplishments that Garth and Rita bring to our team as we accelerate our investment in Canada,” said Michael Cremen, senior vice president of Americas Sales, Veritas. “Garth will lead the way across Canada as we significantly enhance our presence, drive growth with our partners and enable the success of our customers as they digitize their business and ensure regulatory compliance. As channel chief, Rita will deploy further investment into our ecosystem, enable our partners for growth and work to establish long term, mutual success across Canada.”
Scully joins Veritas after working with Commvault as its country manager for Canada, and after serving as vice president for mid-market and small business for Cisco Systems Canada. In these roles, he achieved positive results for each of the businesses during his tenure with respect to growth, client relationship management and implementing successful marketing programs. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Western Ontario.
Loncar began working with Symantec in 2006 and then with Veritas after the separation of Veritas from Symantec. Prior to this role, she served as an account manager at Hewlett-Packard in Canada, where she was responsible for building, managing and maintaining customer relationships, completing sales-oriented tasks and providing customers with advice and counsel. She holds a degree in marketing and marketing management from Centennial College in Toronto and is a member of the Canada Channel Chief Council and an advocate for Women in Technology.
