Recognized by IDC MarketScape as a Leader for Cyber Recovery

Veritas has been named a Leader in the inaugural IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Cyber-Recovery 2023 Vendor Assessment (doc #US49787923, November 2023). A premier vendor-assessment tool, IDC MarketScape is designed to help IT buyers differentiate between offerings and to assist with their selection decisions.

Using the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) framework for cyber resilience as a guide, the IDC MarketScape evaluated the “12 most prominent cyber-recovery vendors on a worldwide basis.” The primary goal of the report was to define and score vendor offerings, capabilities, and strategies, as well as evaluate current and future market success factors. As the report shares, “differentiating between cyber-recovery solutions is a challenge for IT buyers because the vendor capabilities vary so widely.”

The IDC MarketScape vendor analysis model is designed to provide an overview of the competitive fitness of ICT suppliers in a given market. The research methodology utilizes a rigorous scoring methodology based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria that results in a single graphical illustration of each vendor’s position within a given market. The Capabilities score measures vendor product, go-to-market, and business execution in the short-term. The Strategy score measures alignment of vendor strategies with customer requirements in a three- to five-year timeframe. Vendor market share is represented by the size of the icons.

Our Strengths

The quote that stood out for me most from the report is this: “Veritas may be the best cyber-resilience solution you've never heard of.” On one hand, this means that (ouch) we have more work ahead of us to get the word out. On the other, I’m incredibly proud that we have invested in creating a comprehensive solution as recognized by IDC.

Veritas has helped organizations recover rapidly and efficiently from natural disasters, human error, and software failures for more than 30 years. It doesn’t matter where your data exists — in the cloud, on premises, at the edge, or these days, most likely “all of the above.” But today, the type of disaster folks worry about most is dealing with cyberattacks such as ransomware. And as Matt Waxman shared in a recent post, recovering from ransomware is different than recovering from a natural disaster.

The IDC MarketScape narrowed the field by including only vendors that could address its three principles of cyber-resiliency: data survival, data integrity, and rapid recovery with minimal data loss.

Data Survival: Will All Your Data Survive?

Ensuring data survivability has been a Veritas hallmark for decades, providing the foundation for cyber resiliency. Rapid Recovery: Will You Minimize Downtime and Data Loss?

We understand the business impact that downtime and data loss can cause. As such, we flexibly orchestrate complete cross-zone, site, or cloud restoration, simplifying the complexities of cyber recovery. And we do it at scale.    

The first part of rapid recovery is rapid detection. In support of your cybersecurity controls, we monitor data and users for unusual changes or activity that indicate a ransomware attack is underway.
