What is Veritas announcing?

Veritas has acquired APTARE, a global leader in analytic solutions for on-premises and hybrid cloud environments.

Why is Veritas acquiring APTARE?
The acquisition of APTARE is part of a balanced approach to move our portfolio forward through both organic and inorganic growth. Veritas continues to innovate and develop solutions internally while also looking for opportunities with existing technologies that accelerate our vision.
What products does APTARE offer?

APTARE offers analytic and reporting solutions for heterogeneous IT infrastructures. Customers rely on APTARE IT Analytics platform for deep analytics and interconnected insights across their entire data centers. APTARE IT Analytics consists of Storage Management Suite, Backup Manager, Capacity Manager, Fabric Manager, File Analytics, Replication Manager and Virtualization Manager. These support backup and storage systems, and technologies such as software-defined storage, Flash, and hybrid infrastructures.

What products does Veritas offer?
Veritas offers industry-leading products for multi-cloud data management, backup and recovery, business continuity, software-defined storage, and information governance.
Where are the synergies between Veritas’ and APTARE's product offerings?

Veritas currently offers reporting for its data management solutions across data protection, storage management, information governance, and business resiliency. The APTARE technology fits well with existing Veritas reporting capabilities and enables Veritas to provide full-stack insights, analytics, and reporting for our data protection products including Veritas NetBackupTM, Veritas Backup ExecTM, and Veritas InfoScaleTM. This combination will provide customers with tracking and trending, real-time dashboards, future forecasting, and predictive analysis of their enterprise data protection environments.

Will you keep the APTARE brand?

For now, there is no change in the APTARE product or brand. In the short-term, organizations using APTARE IT Analytics will continue to see the APTARE brand along with Veritas as we progress our integration plans.

What does this mean to Veritas customers?
Veritas’s acquisition of APTARE will have no impact to Veritas customers using Veritas OpsCenter and OpsCenter Analytics. In the long-term, the acquisition of APTARE will strengthen Veritas’ reporting and analytics portfolio, benefiting customers who rely on us to help provide single-pane-of-glass insights that empower them to optimize their infrastructure and data center investments.
Is my account team changing? Who should I contact for sales-related questions?
Unless advised otherwise, please continue to work with your existing APTARE account team.
Will any sales contact information be changing?

Your sales contacts at APTARE have been assigned with Veritas email addresses. Please use .@veritas.com to contact your APTARE account team. The APTARE email addresses have been forwarded to the Veritas email address equivalent.

Will Veritas continue to offer APTARE's products as standalone products?

Yes, APTARE products will continue to be available as standalone products. Beginning May 6, 2019, APTARE products will only be available from Veritas. Beginning on this date, all purchases of new APTARE software licenses and maintenance/support for these products must be made through the Veritas Licensing Programs using Veritas SKUs.  Similarly, purchases of APTARE professional services must be made from Veritas price lists using Veritas SKUs.

Will I be able to use my legacy APTARE agreement to purchase from Veritas?

Starting on May 6, 2019, any legacy agreements you may have in place with APTARE Systems, Inc. are (solely with respect to purchases made from APTARE prior to such date) deemed assigned to and performed by Veritas. This assignment of existing APTARE contracts is only to enable Veritas to continue to administer and support your previously-acquired APTARE solutions and to complete any previously accepted services orders.

Following May 6, 2019, your new orders of APTARE products and related maintenance/support or services will be processed under your Veritas purchasing arrangements.

How is the maintenance/support renewal process changing?

Beginning May 6, 2019, maintenance/support renewals will be aligned with the Veritas renewals process.  Quotes for maintenance/support renewals for your APTARE software products will be issued by Veritas.

Will there be a change in APTARE's contacts or services for customer support or technical support?

Effective as of May 1, 2019, Veritas has transitioned your support for your existing APTARE software licenses to Veritas Essential Support, an offering that provides 24x7 access to technical support. As of May 1, you will no longer be able to open a Support case via the APTARE Community Webpage, or contact APTARE Support via the APTARE phone number, but instead will need to go to the Veritas Support Website and open cases or call the Veritas Support Organization. If you already have a Veritas account, you will use that and select the APTARE IT Analytics product. Support for APTARE is available through the following channels:

If you do not have a Veritas account, go to the Veritas Support Website and select Sign In where you will be able to create an account.

How will I get access to new releases of APTARE products?

Effective as of May 6, 2019, all APTARE customer entitlements will be stored in the Veritas Entitlement Management System (VEMS).  Each APTARE customer should have received a notification that your entitlements have been migrated to VEMS and instructions for accessing your entitlement information.  All Veritas product upgrades and releases, including APTARE upgrades and releases, are made available via your VEMS account.

If you do not have a Veritas account, go to the Veritas Support Website and select Sign In where you will be able to create an account.  Here, you can select the “License” icon to access the VEMS System

How does the acquisition impact legacy APTARE channel partners?

APTARE partners who are not already Veritas partners will be invited to join the Veritas Partner Force (VPF) program to gain access to Veritas’ wider range of solutions, including APTARE products. Beginning May 6, 2019, all orders for APTARE products must be made through Veritas Licensing Programs using Veritas SKUs, and orders with APTARE SKUs will no longer be accepted.
