HotFix to remove the "does not contain a license" notification on NetBackup Appliance 5x40 models

HotFix

Abstract

This HotFix can remove the "does not contain a license" notification on NetBackup 5240,5340 and 5340 HA appliances running on NetBackup Appliance OS 5.1.1.

Description

After NetBackup appliance models 5240, 5340 and 5340 HA successful upgrade to version 5.1.1, a notification message “[Error] This appliance does not contain a license. Install a valid license for this appliance.” will appear when log into the NetBackup Appliance Web Console or NetBackup Appliance Shell Menu.

Some operations through shell command or web console may get restriction with a notification message " [Error] V-409-707-30001 This appliance does not contain a license. Install a license with the following command: 'Manage>License>Appliance>Add'. " These operations include "Manage>Storage Resize", "Manage>Storage>Create", "Manage>Software>Download" and "Manage>Software> Install" for some update package.

However, appliance models 5240, 5340 and 5340 HA do not require a software license as these appliances were originally sold without a separate software entitlement.

Install this HotFix to remove those notifications together with operations' restrictions.
