Veritas Bug IDs

Problem Description:

Execution of the nbdb_upload at the command line performs slowly.

Versions Affected:  NetBackup 8.1.2, 8.2, 8.3,,, 9.0,, 9.1,, 10.0,, 10.1, 10.1.1

Hotfix EEB Installation Location: Primary Server

This Hotfix EEB contains the following fix:

A change to the nbdb_unload CLI to improve performance.

The nbdb-utf8-check utility that is required to be run prior to upgrade to 10.2 calls nbdb_unload.

A significant speedup of the nbdb-utf8-check utility can be achieved by installing this EEB.

Install this EEB hotfix under these conditions:

  • If you will be upgrading your Primary Server to NetBackup 10.2 or above.
  • If you have a large NetBackup environment and see slow performance executing nbdb_unload at the command line.
  • Note: Once the EEB is installed on a windows master/primary server, if you must unload to a shared drive, the NetBackup Relational Database Manager must be given permission to write to the shared drive location.
