Requirements for using Rackspace Cloud Files storage

The following are the requirements for using the Rackspace Cloud Files storage:

  • Veritas Enterprise Vault 10.0.1 or later.

  • The Rackspace user name and API Access Key.

See Getting the Rackspace access credentials.

  • At least one Rackspace container to store data. Containers represent the actual storage in the Rackspace cloud.

Use Enterprise Vault rather than Rackspace to create the containers. The containers that Enterprise Vault creates include the required Veritas Partner Key to accept data from Enterprise Vault, whereas those that Rackspace creates do not.

The Enterprise Vault Administration Console lets you define all the required properties of a container when you configure Rackspace Cloud Files storage for a vault store partition.

    See Rackspace storage server properties.

Note:

This guide assumes a working knowledge of Enterprise Vault tasks such as creating and configuring vault store partitions, and of Rackspace Cloud Files storage concepts.
