Problem

Restoring archived items to PST file

Solution

Add  RestoreTOPSTOption value to the webapp.ini file. This will provide a Restore to PST option for shopping baskets (detailed below). Alternatively, the Export Archive option in the Vault Administration Console (VAC) and be used to perform a bulk export of items to PST. However, this option does not allow to restore selectively.

Setting:
RestoreTOPSTOption

Description:
Gives users the option to export found items to PST files. It is possible to grant the option to all users, or to a selected list.

Note: This option is intended to be used by just a few users. Local paths refer to the Archiving Task computer and must already exist. If the user specifies a local path when setting the output destination for the PST, it is saved with that path name on the Archiving Task  computer.

In order to save the PST file to the users computer, a shared folder must first be created on the users workstation. During the restore the user must specify the path of the shared folder (Example: \\Computer Name\Share Name)

Possible Values:

All - The option is provided for all users

A list of user accounts in the following format: Domain\User1,Domain\User

Note: Customizing the Web Access application

Modify the behavior of the Web Access application by creating an initialization file called WebApp.ini and placing it into the EV program folder on the computer that runs the Web Access application. Within WebApp.ini, each line has the following format:

<setting> = <value>

where <setting> is the name of the setting and value is the value that you want to assign to it.

  • Entries in this file are case-sensitive
  • The file must be saved with ANSI encoding
For more information on the WebApp.ini file see the Related articles section.
