SUMMARY OF THE ISSUES FIXED IN THE HOTFIX

Hotfix 3.4.0.29 includes fix for below mentioned issue:

INSTALLING THE HOTFIX
--------------------
  1. Contact Veritas Technical Support for this hotfix. Check whether the hotfix is relevant to the issues seen in your environment.
  2. Download the hotfix and copy it to any server having access to Veritas Resiliency Platform appliances.
  3. Extract the downloaded tar ball. Hotfix files for the applicable virtual appliance will be extracted into patches directory.
  4. The hotfix will have file 'VRP-3.4.0.29-IMS.tar.gz' and 'VRTSsfmh-7.0.326.0-0.x86_64.rpm'  
  5. Make sure no operation is in progress while the hotfix is being applied.
  6. Perform the following steps to upload the hotfix on the applicable appliance:
    a) Open the SFTP session from Klish command:
       utilities> sftp-session start put patch
    b) Provide the password for this temporary SFTP session.
    c) Open SFTP session using the above created user information and upload the corresponding hotfix files for this appliance
           into the 'upload' directory.
  7. Perform the following steps to install the hotfix file VRP-3.4.0.29-IMS.tar.gz on Infrastructure Management Server(IMS):
    a) Verify that the hotfix is uploaded using Klish command:
       hotfix> list-available-hotfixes
    b) Apply the hotfix using Klish command:
       hotfix> apply-hotfix 3.4.0.29
  8. Verify that the hotfix is applied successfully using Klish command:
           hotfix> list-applied-hotfixes
     Output: List of hotfixes installed on the system are:
        
         3.4.0.29
  9. Open support shell by support->shell klish command. 
 10. cd /var/sftp/<username>/upload/. Here user name would be the above SFTP session user.
 11. Update rpm of pkg VRTSsfmh by command 'rpm -Uvh 'VRTSsfmh-7.0.326.0-0.x86_64.rpm' on IMS.
 12. Login to VRP UI and navigate to Settings->Updates. Perform 'Upgrade Host' operation on all host listed in 'Managed Hosts' under the IMS where fix is applied.
 13. Repeat the steps 6 to 12 on applicable virtual IMS appliances. The hotfix functionality may fail even if any one of the appliance is skipped. 
           utilities> sftp-session stop
