Las Vegas Boulevard was buzzing with AI, security, cloud, data, analytics, and more during AWS re:Invent 2023. The event kicked off with high energy that lasted through the final hours. Our Veritas team was excited to be among the hustle and bustle. From AI to data compliance, our experts and partners discussed all things data and cyber.

Among many conversations, one of our primary topics was about strengthening cyber resilience and securing cloud data. My colleague Joe D’Angelo and I had the opportunity to talk with many people about Veritas Alta™ Data Protection and Alta Application Resiliency during the week.

Top-of-mind for many was: How can we strengthen our defenses against cyberattacks today without going bankrupt? In those conversations, we talked about the two key focus areas of a comprehensive data resiliency strategy:

  • A holistic view and knowledge of the applications on which your business depends
  • An understanding of the data dependencies of those applications

With this landscape in mind, the key to a successful cyber resiliency plan is to define two timelines:

Attendees clearly rate consistent, predictable, and effortless global data protection as a must have. This made Veritas Alta Data Protection a hot topic. People were eager to discuss our one-of-a-kind approach to high-quality data protection. With Veritas, you can automatically protect assets and secure data against ransomware, while reducing costs using industry-leading storage efficiency.

Finally, what would a show be without AI? Of course, we showed up ready to engage with fellow AI experts and interested parties. As AI models continue to grow, you face a challenge of navigating the hype vs. practical application of AI. While there is concern about falling behind their competition, organizations are rushing to develop and implement an effective AI strategy. As attendees had no shortage of AI topics to cover, we were eager to share how Veritas 360 Defense not only protects the data and services AI systems depend on, but also helps bring AI into your data with a cyber-resilient infrastructure. Data Security, Data Protection and Data Governance are critical to deploying Generative AI. At the Veritas booth, we were covering how to take advantage of this technology without losing sleep around the data risks. Check out this short clip on the show floor from our very own AI expert, Varun Grover, covering his top three AI takeaways from the event.

Overall, AWS re:Invent 2023 was one for the books. The crowd was engaging, and the topics were exciting – from data protection and reducing storage cost to generative AI. It was a successful week in Vegas.
