Celebrating the Incredible Women Who Make Veritas a Success
On March 8th each year, International Women’s Day (IWD) is observed through a diverse array of events. This globally recognized day transcends national borders and cultural spheres, uniting individuals, and organizations in their appreciation of women’s accomplishments. IWD serves as a prominent platform to not only acknowledge the significant contributions women have made, but also to advocate for continued advancement towards achieving gender equality. This year’s theme is Inspire Inclusion and we’ve taken it a step further at Veritas to Inspire inclusion in innovation. Women at Veritas Empowered (WAVE) employee resource group, planned several events locally and globally to celebrate. Read more to learn how the Veritas community celebrated this month.
WAVE Global Events
As part of WAVE’s global initiatives to celebrate IWD, we started with a fireside chat with three of our female leaders – Judy Iannuccilli, VP Human Resources; Lissa Hollinger, SVP & Chief Marketing Officer; and Yudum Yonak, Emerging Channel Leader. The aim of this event was to celebrate women’s achievements at Veritas while building on the existing WAVE community initiative around creating a vibrant ecosystem for women and allies at Veritas. The panelists spoke openly about their personal career journeys, their successes, and their challenges and how they are all proud ambassadors of female talent throughout our organization.
For our second global event, we had the privilege to host Christine Heckart, CEO of Xapa, who spoke to our employees on building resiliency and trust during times of change. She shared her approach to inclusion with these topics and participants walked away with applicable tactics to manage and make the most of change while reaping the benefits of inclusion.
WAVE UK
WAVE UK hosted its’ very first Women in Tech networking event where employees from Veritas and external guests were invited to hear from shared experiences and to network freely. This event featured distinguished speakers, Anushka Davies, CRN Woman of the Year 2023 and Head of Talent, Engagement and Diversity at Softcat; along with Jo Youle, CEO of Missing People, TEDx Speaker and Executive Coach. The event also featured Veritas leaders, Laura Gilbert, Senior Director of HR; Bethany Lang, Channel Sales Engineer and our esteemed male allies- Mark Nutt, SVP of International Sales; Peter Grimmond, Head of Technology for the International region and Oliver Normal, VP of International Channel Sales.
WAVE Brazil
The WAVE Brazil chapter invited journalist, Graca Sermoud for a roundtable in our Sao Paulo office. The event focused on topics such as working in a traditionally male-dominated industry, the role each of us must play in achieving equality, and how to appreciate the women we have around us to help each other to achieve our full potential.
WAVE India
The WAVE Pune chapter kicked off the week of March4th as ‘IWD Week’ with a variety of events for all Veritas employees. These events were designed to promote engagement, community, empowerment, and inclusion across the organization. They hosted a speaker series with Aditi Vaidya, Cofounder of Quanfluence Pvt. Ltd. to share her experiences, challenges, achievements, and empowering stories. Next up there was a fireside chat mental health session in collaboration with Optum on how to build a culture of kindness and strategies for promoting positive mental health and strong relationships. There were also social events such as a movie event, games and activities, an organized skit focused on women empowerment, and a self-defense karate session for women.
WAVE Singapore
WAVE Singapore celebrated IWD with a hands-on workshop creating stunning preserved floral arrangements. They were able to connect with fellow colleagues and enjoyed refreshments in the spirit of International Women’s Day together. Syimah Jasni, one of Veritas’ Inside Sales Reps led the event and fun was had by all!
WAVE France, Madrid, Ireland, & Roseville
Several chapters across the globe hosted networking events for members and all employees to gather and celebrate the women that help make Veritas who we are. These social events give our employees the opportunity to learn, grow, and celebrate each other and their own unique perspectives and skills they bring to their teams.
We want to thank all WAVE champions, members and allies who helped make IWD 2024 a huge success with their creative and fun events that connected us further, gained ally support, and overall- inspired inclusion. Thank you!
