Problem

After licensing Backup Exec System Recovery(BESR), console reports agent is still in evaluation mode and prompts again for the product key.

When Backup Exec System Recovery (BESR) console is started, it prompts for the license/product key. After adding the license the client reports that it was successfully installed, but the BESR console reports the agent still in evaluation / trial mode

Restarting the BESR console generates the request again for the license/product key.

Solution

Run the Fixinstall.bat locally on the affected client from the following location and then reboot the computer:
 

    For 32-bit systems:  C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec System Recovery
    For 64-bit systems:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Backup Exec System Recovery

    NOTE: Above folder locations are for default Backup Exec System Recovery installs.

      NOTE: If the client in question is managed by the Backup Exec System Recovery Manager option or Management Solutions (i.e. BESRM or BESR-MS) follow the steps outline in technote http://support.veritas.com/docs/318344, import the license into BESRM or BESR-MS via its console, and then apply to the client via the BESRM or BESR-MS console.
