After upgrading to Backup Exec 12.5, the Backup Exec Job Engine service crashes intermittently and an EVENT ID 1000 is reported in the Application log on the Backup Exec server:
Event Type: Error

Event Category: (100)
Event ID: 1000
Time: 12:47:11 AM
Faulting application bengine.exe, version 12.5.2213.158, faulting module msvcr80.dll, version 8.0.50727.3053, fault address 0x00015108.For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
The Backup Exec Job Engine (bengine.exe) crashes in what seems to be a totally random pattern irrespective of whether the backup is targeted to tape or Backup to Disk folder (B2D). It can crash at any point during a job or may not crash at all. The job could be an overwrite or append job.
On analyzing the crash dump generated from the bengine crash, it shows the faulting IP as: msvcr80!memcpy+158
Attempt to re-run the job again. If the backup job contains a large selection list the job can be split it up into jobs with smaller selection lists.
