Some messages may change from Read to Unread when manually archiving them from Outlook in Cached mode.
This issue can occur when messages are marked as Read and then immediately archived. This does not allow enough time for the status of the message in the cache to be updated on the Exchange server. When Enterprise Vault archives the message the communication goes directly to the Exchange server. If the status on the Exchange server has not been updated then the message will change to Unread during the archive process. To avoid this issue, enough time should be given for the cache status to be updated to the server. One minute should be enough time for this to occur.
Symantec Corporation has acknowledged that the above-mentioned issue is present in the version(s) of the product(s) referenced in this article.
There are currently no plans to address this issue by way of a cumulative hotfix or service pack in the current or previous versions of the software at the present time. This issue may be resolved in a future major revision of the software at a later time, but is not scheduled for any release.
