During a File System Archiving (FSA) Reporting scan the file server may register Event ID 24600 (Error) which states This shared resource does not exist.

Error Message

Event ID 24600 Error getting server information: This shared resource does not exist.

The event can occur on larger file systems. This issue can sometimes be resolved by stopping the FSA Reporting scan from checking duplicates. This can be accomplished by doing the following:

1. Edit the 'Properties' table in the EnterpriseVaultFSAReporting Database, 'check duplicates' column to false (SQL 2005) or 0 (SQL 2000).

2. Restart the File Collection service on the target FSA Agent Servers.

Note: This setting will apply to all file servers. At this time, it is not possible to only turn off the duplicate checking for individual file servers.

For more details regarding duplicate checking and FSA Reporting in general please see the referenced document below.
