BUG REPORT: When running NetBackup 6.5.2 or 6.5.3, under certain circumstances, calendar-based backups may run multiple times on days when a Daylight Savings Time (DST) offset is removed.

Solution

Bug: 1445633

Detail/Symptoms:
Backups may repeat and run multiple times during days when a Daylight Savings Time (DST) offset is removed - for example, when Daylight or Summer Time "falls back" to Standard Time - when the following conditions are met:
  • The backup is part of a calendar-based schedule
  • The backup begins between midnight and 1AM (between 00:00 and 01:00) on the day of the time change
  • The backup completes while the backup window for that day is still open
This issue ONLY occurs on the day of the time change - the day after and all following days will not see any repeated backups due to this issue.
