How to: Install Backup Exec as a cluster-aware application


Install Backup Exec on all the nodes that will be in the cluster. Install same Backup Exec agents and options on all the nodes

From the node that is going to be the active node, start Backup Exec

Go to the Tools menu, point to Wizards, and click Cluster Configuration Wizard


Click Next on the Cluster Configuration Wizard


Provide the cluster group information or use the default option


On the Virtual Server Information screen, Backup Exec automatically displays a default name called BACKUPEXECVRS for the virtual server. Type a new name or use the default name. Type the IP address and subnet mask of the Backup Exec virtual server


Select the nodes shown in the left pane, to add in the cluster group and click 'Add'


Click 'Configure' to start cluster configuration


Cluster configuration will start as shown below


Click 'Finish' to complete the Backup Exec Cluster Aware Installation

Confirm the installation through the Cluster Configuration Wizard.
