This section contains known issues with this maintenance pack that have not
yet been fixed in NetBackup. These issues will likely be fixed in future
Maintenance Packs for this version of NetBackup.

+ (ET1032964 ) DB2 creates the .SQLCRT.FLG file when it creates a directory
(usually during tablespace creation). For volume level rollback restores
this file cannot be present. Therefore, the directory structure must be
present at the time DB2 creates a table space OR this file is deleted after
DB2 creates the directory during table space creation.

IV. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
=============================
** The content of this online Readme supersedes the information in the Readme
contained in the download. **

NOTE: Click on the "Download Now" link, near the bottom of this document
prior to running either of the following installation procedures for this pack.

There are two ways to install database agent maintenance pack software.

1. Remote Installation: Loads the software on a master server with
the intent of pushing database software out to affected clients.

2. Local Installation: Loads and installs the software only to this
local machine.

---

Remote Installation:

As root on the NetBackup Master/Media server:

1. Install the Maintenance Pack binaries.

cd /tmp
/bin/sh Vrts_pack.install

Pick option 1 (Remote Installation) when prompted for the installation
method.

2. The pack install logs can be found in /usr/openv/pack/pack.history once the
installation is complete.

3. Run update_dbclients to push pack software affected database agent clients.
For more information on how to run update_dbclients, refer to the NetBackup
for DB2 System Administrator's Guide.
----

Local Installation:

As root on the NetBackup for DB2 client:

1. Install Maintenance Pack binaries.

cd /tmp
/bin/sh Vrts_pack.install

Pick option 2 - Local Installation, when prompted.

2) The pack install logs can be found in /usr/openv/pack/pack.history once the
installation is complete.

=========================
V. UNINSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
=========================
1) Close the NetBackup user interfaces.

If a database agent is being used, such as DB2,
ensure that the database services are stopped.

2) Change directory to the patch save directory.
Substitute the pack name for ${PACK.EN_US} in the following command:

cd /usr/openv/pack/${PACK.EN_US}/save

3) Run the un-install script:

./Vrts_pack.uninstall

4) Verify that the pack uninstalled successfully by checking
/usr/openv/pack/pack.history.

5) Only if the pack was originally pushed to remote clients using
update_dbclients, re-run update_dbclients after the pack was
successfully uninstalled on the server to "push" the uninstall.

NB_DB2_60_6_M
=============
Etrack Incident = ET1014122
Associated Primary Etrack = ET989114
Titan cases: 280-984-584

Description:
A change was added to allow multiple policies and schedules to be used for a
DB2 database backup.

Additional Notes:
This change only works on DB2 V8.1 FixPak 7 or later.

The syntax for specifying the policy and schedule using the command line is:
'db2 BACKUP DATABASE SAMPLE LOAD
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/nbdb2.* OPTIONS
"DB2_POLICY=policy_name:DB2_SCHED=sched_name"'

The schedule passed using the command line must be of type "Application
Backup".

If the policy or schedule are passed using the command line then they
override whatever is defined in the db2.conf file.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Etrack Incident = ET1152840

Description:
Restores from DB2 Snapshot only backups would fail if the DB2 database
contained DMS containers that were created using default paths.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

=============
NB_DB2_60_5_M
=============

Etrack Incident = ET862277

Description:
A fix was added that resolves a load library failure that would occur with
DB2 advanced method backups on HP-UX platforms.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Etrack Incident = ET855601

Description:
A change was added that resolves a segmentation fault that could occur while
performing a roll-forward recovery.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Etrack Incident = ET900713

Description:
Added support for DB2 v9.1 on AIX 5.x systems.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Etrack Incident = ET934251

Description:
Using a template to backup a 64-bit DB2 database on
Linux x86_64 would fail. The error occurred because DB2
failed to load /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/ndbd2.so.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Etrack Incident = ET994053

Description:
DB2 Proxy restores would fail on AIX 5.3 because of a
regression that was introduced. A correction has been
added that addresses this issue.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Etrack Incident = ET1012914

Description:
DB2 Agent user interface would fail to enumerate on PowerPC.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Etrack Incident = ET1006098

Description:
The DB2 user interface would fail to enumerate the DB2 database.
The bpubsdb2 executable failed to connect to the database.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Etrack Incident = ET1030436

Description:
DB2 V9 can only be enumerated if it was installed in the default
location. A change was included that adds support to enumerate all
installations of DB2.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Etrack Incident = ET1035215

Description:
DB2 V9.1 backups failed when a template was used in a policy's backup
selection.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Etrack Incident = ET1037366

Description:
Backup and restores of DB2 V9 databases, using templates,
would cause bpdbsbdb2 to segmentation fault on Linux systems.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Etrack Incident = ET1041415

Description:
DB2 stream-based log restores would fail if the policy used to perform the
backup did not exist.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Etrack Incident = ET1064798

Description:
A DB2 restore now has the ability to redirect a DB2 database
to a different owner from the original owner (both owners
being from the same group). A new backup of the source DB2
database is required so the correct group permission is on the
image to allow the alternate user to perform a restore to the
new instance, or database.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

=============
NB_DB2_60_4_M
=============
Etrack Incident = ET569429

Description:
Added code to support DB2 on Linux X64 systems.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Etrack Incident = ET784650

Description:
NetBackup communication between components that were separated by a
firewall did not work. For instance, when a master server was behind the
firewall and a media server was outside the firewall, all communication
from the master server had an internal host address that was not accessible
from outside systems.

This is the same when clients and other services are in question.

Additional Notes:
To activate NAT address replacement, systems outside of the firewall should
have the FIREWALL_IN parameter specified in their bp.conf/registry.

Format: FIREWALL_IN=hostname1,nat_address1|hostname2,nat_address2|...

Where: <hostname> is the name of the host system that needs to be accessed
and <nat_address> is the actual NAT address for the firewall to do
forwarding.

Description:
An error message was received when performing a DB2 roll-forward after a
restore. The following is an example of the error message that was
received:

$ db2 rollforward db sample to end of logs and stop
SQL1268N Roll-forward recovery stopped due to error "28" while
retrieving log file "S0000001.LOG" for database "SAMPLE" on node "0"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Etrack Incident = ET494572

Description:
Users can now back up and restore DB2 table spaces that are created for
Database Managed Space (DMS) containers. DB2 DMS support includes
stream-based and Advanced Client methods.
