Problem

If an IMG  media or the Backup to Disk (B2D) folder containing the IMG media is deleted from the Backup Exec console and re-inventoried OR if the IMG media/B2D folder is taken to another Backup Exec Server and inventoried, the IMG media/B2D folder will come up under Imported Media Set "Backup Exec and Windows NT Backup media". However, instead of inheriting the Overwrite Protection Period (OPP) of Imported Media Set "Backup Exec and Windows NT Backup media" the IMG media displays an OPP of INFINITE period.

Solution

Workaround:

Manually associate the IMG media to the media set with desired Overwrite Protection Period. Refer to the article in Related Documents section for information on how to associate a media to media set.
