Problem

Start the Veritas Enterprise Administrator (VEA) GUI by replacing the corrupt Registry file with a "known good" file.

Error Message

VEA configuration failed
Unable to configure /etc/vx/isis/Registry!

Solution

The issue:
The Veritas Enterprise Administrator (VEA) GUI services will not start.

The cause:
The Registry file is missing.
The Registry file contains invalid entries.
The Registry file is corrupt.

To resolve the issue:
1) Backup the current registry file:
cp /etc/vx/isis/Registry /etc/vx/isis/Registry.old

2) Save the file available from this technical document in to the "/etc/vx/isis" directory as filename 'Registry'.

Notes:
The file must be saved with no "extension" (example: .txt), and the first R of "Registry" must be a capital letter.
This Registry file has been tested on the following Operating Platforms: Solaris, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Suse Enterprise Linux.

3) Execute the following command to start the VEA GUI:
/etc/init.d/isisd start
