The error below occurs on the event tab on the remote console/UI when attempting to connect to an agent on a different domain. The backup job created using the local console runs fine. However when attempting to login to the agent from the remote console/UI the error is generated. The error is not logged on the local console. The Remote Registry service is already started on the remote agent system.
Error: Access to registry key is denied
This issue could occur when the central console does not have sufficient rights to access the remote agent machine in a different domain.
To resolve the issue, perform the following steps:
Warning: Incorrect use of the Windows registry editor may prevent the operating system from functioning properly. Great care should be taken when making changes to a Windows registry. Registry modifications should only be carried-out by persons experienced in the use of the registry editor application. It is recommended that a complete backup of the registry and workstation be made prior to making any registry changes.
1. Open the Registry Editor (Click Start > Run > type regedit) on the remote console/UI server.
2. Click on File > Connect Network Registry.
3. Browse to the remote agent machine.
4. Check whether the central console machine can access the remote agent's registry and make the necessary modifications to the permissions if not.
