Cause

This error can be caused by an Active Directory attribute that contains more characters than SQL allows in the ExchangeMailboxEntry table in the EnterpriseVaultDirectory database. The following columns in the ExchangeMailboxEntry table have a maximum length of 64 bytes:

  • Department
  • Title
  • Country
  • First name
  • Last name

If any of the corresponding Active Directory attributes exceed this length, provisioning will not be able to process the user and will skip them.

Note: The extended Unicode characters will use 2 bytes per character instead of one.

Workaround:

Shorten the appropriate Active Directory attribute that exceeds the 64 byte limit.

Additional information regarding Active Directory attributes is available from the following Microsoft website:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms675090(v=VS.85).aspx

EV 10.0.0 automatically truncates the fields longer than 64 byte limit in order to run the provisioning.
