The error message "Error 1130: Not enough server storage is available to process this command" is reported during Backup Exec operations.

Error Message

Error 1130: Not enough server storage is available to process this command

Cause

This error can occur during backup or restore operations with Backup Exec (tm) software. This error may indicate that Windows does not have enough paged pool memory available to process a command.  This can happen when the PagedPoolSize is either set too small or when an application does not re-allocate memory correctly.

 

Solution

This problem can be resolved be changing the following registry key value to 0.  To edit the registry, please perform the following:

Warning: Incorrect use of the Windows registry editor may prevent the operating system from functioning properly. Great care should be taken when making changes to a Windows registry. Registry modifications should only be carried-out by persons experienced in the use of the registry editor application. It is recommended that a complete backup of the registry and workstation be made prior to making any registry changes.

1.  Click Start | Run and type regedt32
2.  Locate the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management
3.  Double-click the PagedPoolSize key and change the value to 0
4.  Close the registry
5.  Reboot the computer
 

 
If the above steps do not resolve the error, or the error message is occurring elsewhere in Backup Exec for Windows Servers, please perform the following:
1.  Click Start | Run and type regedt32
 
2. Locate the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters
3. Click Edit and Add Value with the following parameters:
 

 
Name: MinFreeConnections
 
Data Type: Reg_DWORD
 
Decimal: 5
 

 
4. Exit the registry editor
5. Reboot the computer
