The error "Class not Registered" is returned when attempting to synchronize a mailbox in Enterprise Vault (EV) for Microsoft Exchange.

The service is not present in the target computer's NT Services configuration. The Enterprise Vault site may not be fully configured, or the service may have been deleted from the NT Services configuration.

Cause

One or more Enterprise Vault DLL files or services have been unregistered.

Solution

1. Stop any Enterprise Vault services that are running.
2. Run the batch file FileReRegister.bat from the Enterprise Vault installation directory. This will recreate all the Enterprise Vault service and file registrations in the Windows Registry.
3. Start the Enterprise Vault services.
