SNMP traps sent by the Veritas Cluster Server Notifier resource are not correctly interpreted by SNMP trap receiver software

Problem

SNMP traps sent by the Veritas Cluster Server Notifier resource are not correctly interpreted by SNMP trap receiver software

Solution

An issue has been identified with the VCS.MIB file released with Veritas Storage Foundation HA 4.3, where some trap definitions in the MIB file do not match the actual traps sent by the notifier resource.

Some trap receivers will discard traps which do not meet the MIB definitions and so it may appear that you are not receiving SNMP traps from the Notifier resource.
