Resolution:
Onthe master server, search for disallow statements by running the followingcommand:

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bpgetconfig| grep -i disallow

On a Windows master server, run thecommand:

<install_path>\VERITAS\NetBackup\bin\admincmd\bpgetconfig

Lookfor the following in theoutput:

DISALLOW_CLIENT_LIST_RESTORE =YES
DISALLOW_CLIENT_RESTORE =YES

The first thing the Oracle backup does is run a bplist command to verify the backupimage it wants to write is not already present.  Because NetBackup isconfigured not to allow the list of restores, the backup fails. This behavior ischanged in the referenced "fixed in" version. Oracle backups no longer fail withthe "fixed in" versions due to client list/restore restrictions.

Resolvethis by removing the two disallow statements from the master server's bp.conf file (or from the registry on a Windows master server).  For aUNIX master server, the bp.conf file can be manually edited with any texteditor.  Both Windows master servers and UNIX master servers can modifythese values by using the NetBackup Administrative Console.

Openthe NetBackup Administrative Console, and from under Host Properties,select the master server. In the Client Attributes section, confirm the Global Attributes are set to allow client browse and restore. Also,confirm that the Oracle client does not have any additional limitations on theability to browse for, or restore files.

Restart the masterserver's NetBackup daemons or services after making these changes to themaster'sconfiguration.
