AOFO: Initialization failure on: "Shadow?Copy?Components". Advanced Open File Option used: Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS). VSS Snapshot error. Unexpected provider error.
1 . AOFO option under Job Properties is not selected.
2 . The Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider Service manages software based volume shadow copies taken by the Volume Shadow Copy service. If this service is stopped, software-based volume shadow copies cannot be managed. If this service is disabled, any service that explicitly depends on it will fail to start.
3. Error would be reported in job log if there are more than one VSS providers installed on the Source server.
The error occurs while running a backup job with selections made for a local or remote Windows 2003 machine from under the Shadow Copy Components irrespective of whether Advanced Open File Option is installed on the Backup Exec server or not.

If the service can not start successfully then "Reboot" the server once and test the backup. If the Shadow Copy service fails to start, please contact Microsoft Support for further assistance.
