Storage Foundation High Availability Solutions for Windows, Storage Foundation for Windows and Veritas Cluster Server for Windows 6.0.1 Cumulative Patch 6 (CP6)
Problem
Storage Foundation High Availability for Windows (SFW-HA), Storage Foundation for Windows (SFW) and Cluster Server for Windows (VCS) 6.0.1 Cumulative Patches (CP) will help you keep SFW, SFW-HA and VCS software at the latest support level. The cumulative patch keeps software supported and up-to-date with the latest patches by providing a single set of updates.
CP6 released on November 24th 2014.
Solution
CP6 has been released for Storage Foundation High Availability for Windows (SFW-HA), Storage Foundation for Windows (SFW) and Cluster Server for Windows (VCS) 6.0.1. CP6 is available to download from the Services and Operations Readiness Tools (SORT) https://sort.veritas.com/ and can be used to install the fixes for the issues described in the Readme included with download and listed as Etrack incidents below.
The CPs available on SORT are:
- SFW-HA 6.0.1 which includes fixes to all options for SFW and VCS (e.g. Volume Replicator (VVR), FlashSnap, VCS Agents / Resources, Configuration Wizards, GCO, etc.). This does not include any SFW options specific to Microsoft Cluster Server (MSCS) or Windows Failover Cluster (WFOC).
- SFW 6.0.1 which includes fixes to all options for SFW (e.g. VVR, FlashSnap, MSCS / WFOC, etc.).
- VCS 6.0.1 which includes fixes to all options for VCS (VCS Agents / Resources, GCO, Configuration Wizards, GCO, etc.).
Please note that the CPs do not include updates to Dynamic Multi-Path (DMP) feature.Updates to DMP will be provided via Quarterly Device Driver Installation (DDI) Packages. CPs are installed using VxHFBatchInstaller and they can be installed in two modes using the command line interface (CLI):
•Verbose installation prompts for inputs and displays the installation progress status in the CLI.
•Non-verbose installation is a silent installation. The installer does not prompt for inputs and directly proceeds with the installation tasks. The installer displays the installation progress status in the CLI.For specific installation instructions, please review the Readme file that is listed on each of the three aforementioned links above and that is also included in the CP download after it is extracted.
