When attempting to redirect restore a virtual machine to local disk and Backup Exec is unable to resolve the hostname of the vCenter the Backup Exec Remote Agent may crash.

Problem

When restoring a virtual machine to a local disk on the Backup Exec server and Backup Exec is unable to resolve the hostname of the original vCenter the Backup Exec Remote Agent (beremote.exe) may crash.

Solution

This issue is resolved in Backup Exec 2014 or later versions. 

 

To resolve this issue and receive the new Backup Exec improvements please upgrade to the current version of Backup Exec
